ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING OF BAFRA LTD
The Annual General Meeting of BAFRA Limited will be held during the Convention weekend at 5pm on Saturday 11th April 2026. It is open to all members. A full agenda will be circulated to members nearer the time.
The election of directors for the Company will take place at the AGM. Four posts are due for election this year:
All four current incumbent has indicated that they will be seeking re-election.

DISCIPLINARY UPDATE
Last week’s Newsflash (7/25) reported that Brunel Burners player Cole McFarlane, was disqualified from a game for a Flagrant Personal Foul. However the disqualification has been cancelled after an appeal committee reviewed the case and concluded the foul did not meet the criteria for a Flagrant Foul.

The field was well marked in blue, although it contained an extra set of inbounds markings (wider than the standard set) and short yard-line extension at the sidelines alternated between being connected to and separate from the sideline. Hertfordshire Hurricanes | 90-yard field marked in blue. Hashmarks marked at the correct width and feinter hashmarks marked at NFL-width were both present. No numbers or nine-yard marks. KCL Regents | 80-yard field where the short yard-line extensions required repainting prior to kick-off. Team areas were marked with cones on one side of the field. Two small changing rooms were provided. However, after the game, one of the rooms was locked, and it was apparent that the other room was in use by someone else who had left their kit in there. LJMU Fury | Kick off was delayed by ten minutes while the posts at one end were forcibly hammered into the ground. Eventually, the posts were playable, albeit slightly askew. A ball was kicked over the fence behind one goal post onto the grass verge beside the B5312 - it is suspected that a local ne'er-do-well took it before the ball-person was able to retrieve it. A fourth ball was sourced, causing no major disruption. No three-yard marks. No nine-yard marks. Team areas were marked with cones. Oxford Saints (U19) | Poor communication between the Senior team and Junior team. The Senior game finished at 16:30, and the Junior team tried to make use of the officials without allowing their rule-mandated 30-minute break. The second contest was essentially a scrimmage of 10-play drives per side, with both scrimmage downs and kicking plays. The officials took a short break before rejoining the contest. QMBL Vipers | QMBL have a new groundskeeper who has relocated the goal posts at one end of the field to make it 100 yards. However, the field was still marked to 90 yards. The field also had a solid line down the inside of the inbounds markings, but this was not an issue and partially helped with spotting the ball. No team areas were marked, but coaches generally stayed within the 20-yard lines. There was one brief stoppage to fix the chain set, as well as a few minor delays while the chain crew got themselves situated. York Centurians | 100-yard field marked in blue, with no numbers or nine-yard marks. No pylons at the hash marks extended. Team areas were marked with cones. The changing rooms were not available immediately on arrival as they were being used as a storeroom. The changing room was also quite a walk from the field and did not lock. New this week | Play: 4th & 25 at the A-45, Punter A-7 punts the ball away and returner B-83 returns the ball to the A-10 yard line where he is tackled. Team A had five players in the backfield at the snap.

Last week | Play: The game is being played with a Video Judge. 1st and 10 at Midfield, there are 1:30 seconds left in the game. The clock is not running, the score is tied. Team A attempt a pass play and it is intercepted by B38 at the B-29. B38 returns the ball to A’s end zone for a Touchdown. After the play the video judge reviews the pay and sees clear evidence of a false start prior to the snap.

New this week | Game Situation: Team A 3rd & 5 at Midfield. Tight End A83 is lined up to the left of the formation. Defensive End B91 lines up immediately opposite A83 Team A attempt a sweep to the right hand side of the field. A83 charges takes one step forward and attempts to block B91. A83 is out of position and blocks B91 in the back. Running back A25 gains 6 yards before he is pushed out of bounds at the B-44 yard line.

Last week | Game Situation: On a 6C crew, where should the Centre Judge stand on a field goal attempt? Answer: The Centre Judge should be in position about one yard behind the goal post nearest the press box. They are responsible for ruling whether the ball passes inside their upright. |
